Shamans are people belonging to ancient tribes, still living in Northern Europe and South America. They use rituals said to liberate the spirit and reveal one\u2019s true purpose. I had taken all the money I had\u2014and it wasn\u2019t much. Enough to live in the Netherlands for a week; after that, I would let fate guide me. I was fully prepared to live the rest of my life according to the ways of the shamans, if that was what I was meant to do. After all, there was nothing holding me back.<\/p>\n
My whole life had been a negotiation about whether it was too early or too late to begin living the life I truly wanted. I hadn\u2019t realized how much of my life I had spent waiting for the \u201cright moment.\u201d That moment was always somewhere in the future\u2014never now. I had never understood that the only right moment is the present.<\/p>\n
