Tabula Rasa

For those who may be hearing this phrase for the first time, Tabula Rasa means “blank slate.”

Do we enter—or leave—life as a tabula rasa? This question is explored by the story’s protagonist, through a remarkable journey toward the purification of the soul. This spiritual narrative unfolds simultaneously on three different levels.

The first level is the hero’s everyday life and his evolution through trials, revelations, and realizations. The second level consists of his encounters with a spiritual teacher, set in a captivating landscape where the wise mentor’s secluded cabin stands. The third level is an intensive care unit in a hospital, which at some point transforms unexpectedly into something entirely different.

Each time they meet, the teacher speaks using a combination of three words (e.g., Action, Art, Appearance), which the hero initially believes to be random. But are they? Or are these words guiding him toward his ultimate purpose? Will he understand why the teacher insists that loneliness is an illusion—and that the future passes through the past? By the end of the journey, the hero is called to leave his own imprint on the blank slate of his soul.
